Can you imagine an NFL team stating- 'Eh, we're going to make our dimensions and playing field 50 yards total'. Can you imagine if an NHL team stated- 'Eh, on our team - we have 20 feet behind the goalie net of open ice...... Can you imagine if an NBA team stated, 'Eh, for our home court - the 3 pt line is only 15 feet away from the basket' WTF?  Basic dimensions are the same. 90 feet between bases 60 and 6 inches from pitching rubber (heh heh, I said rubber) to home. Outfield dimensions didn’t matter until the 20’s because hardly anyone could hit one out. Why can some teams play inside and some have to play outside?
