When is the last time New Orleans got hit by a hurricane? It's been over 10 years. And I would rather deal with a hurricane than a fire, earthquake, snowstorm, flood, rock or mudslide, or tornado. Hurricanes are slow. You can see them coming 2 weeks in advance. What can you do about an earthquake, tornado, rock or mudslide, fire, snowstorm, flood, etc.? Have you ever dealt with a snowstorm? Really not that big of a deal. Comparing it to a hurricane is asinine. The point was, you can avoid a hurricane which hits New Orleans once every 10-20 years. Most people up north cannot avoid a snowstorm. Most people in New Orleans have never suffered any damage from a hurricane. Much less any injury or death. Most people up north have to deal with snow and all its aggravation every winter.
