1. Die Hard - without question, the best movie of 1988
The rest in no particular order:
Who Framed Roger Rabbit - clever, inventive comedy with some very good performances
Beetlejuice - I didn't really care for the Beetlejuice character but the rest of the cast are outstanding
Heathers - brilliant dark comedy
Big - much better than I expected, surprised Hanks was nominated only because the role doesn't seem the type recognized
Scrooged - has its moments and good enough for a mention but not as great as it should be
Naked Gun - absolutely hilarious, one of the best comedies ever made
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - has some inspired comedic moments but overall is not as good as the talent involved would suggest
A Fish Called Wanda - another one of the great comedies, Kevin Kline won a well deserved Oscar
Rain Man - have only seen it once and I liked it but I have no desire to see it again
Funny Farm - to me, this is one of the most underrated comedies I have seen, so well written and a collection of colorful characters
Bull Durham - used to love it but I watched it recently and not quite as good as I remembered
Mississippi Burning - what is fiction and what is fact? best not to seek answers and enjoy this powerful tale with searing performances
Working Girl - an underrated gem, I watched this a few years ago and it just blew me away, a terrific film
Married to the Mob - another underrated gem, some brilliant comedic acting by Merdeces Ruehl and Dean Stockwell
Eight Men Out - one of the best baseball movies I have seen
