Stand alone is definitely what DC’s better at. They should focus on making a bunch of high quality trilogies for these characters then revisiting the Justice League down the road.
After saying that my brain just went into an Elseworld and I imagined a place where DC made trilogies of TDK, MOS, WW, and Aquaman, completely without care of a shared universe... then made Justice League. And they all completely stand alone of each other while still epically combining well together. That’s the dream shared universe.
