Judith Chapman's "new" role on Days airs w/o January 28 *spoilerish*

So Judith Chapman returns, which is awesome, because she was so good as Angelica all those years ago.
She will be playing Leo's mother Diana Cooper.
However all signs are pointing to the fact that this "new" character Diana Cooper is actually Diana Colville, who was previously played by Genie Francis. You may remember Ro-John was with Diana while Marlena was dead but before he knew he was really John Black and not Roman.
Thoughts? I like JC but Diana was a gentle character and I can't see JC playing her that way. I think I'd rather have just seen GF back in the role.
