Chicago is one big jerkoff session for musical fans. Is there even a story to that film? It won Best Picture. I don't always agree with the Academy, but one thing that's become clear to me over the years is that there's no set criteria as to what makes an 'Oscar film.' They had to acknowledge the CBM genre sooner or later, Black Panther finally made it happen.

Oh yeah Chicago! Good call. I had forgotten about that film. Yeah I don’t really put much stock in the Oscars. I love all kinds of films, but if stuff like Black Panther is going to get nominated and everyone is going to say it doesn’t deserve it then what’s even the point? Either they matter or they don’t. We can’t really have it both ways.
