The first UK broadcast of Episode 1 of Harlots was watched by 223,000 viewers - which is 4 times the usual number of viewers that watch ITV Encore. The episode was repeated twice during the week and adding the number of viewers from those repeat broadcasts pushes the number of viewers up to 350,000. Good numbers for a TV Channel that is not available on Free-to-Air TV in the UK. It will remain to be seen if this is a The Frankenstein Chronicles or Houdini and Doyle - as with those two (both shown on ITV Encore in the UK) the numbers for Hulu will play a big part in whether more than 1 series/season is produced.
