Sociopaths are very good at blending in. They are very good at acting like "normal" people. John Wayne Gacy was also a normal acting and very friendly guy, that raped and murdered countless teenage boys and buried them under the floorboards of his house. This is what makes them so dangerous. Most people are good at hiding the bad sides of themselves, it's just that most people's bad side isn't nearly as deranged as Ted Bundy's. Wow. Yes, you watch movies about these people, read books about 'em, but your post serves as a chilling reminder that the possibility (probability?) exists that you may come into contact, directly or indirectly, with such a normal-seeming person every day of your life, or at least on a regular basis and not be remotely aware of what's behind their façade. And to me that's scary, brah. Of course, you can't go around thinking everyone sitting next to you on the bus is a possible sociopath or refuse to open the door to the delivery guy because through the peephole you see he isn't smiling, but it does still give one pause.
