It's pointless to criticize Tarantino for violence.

I wonder how many really did live in caves?
No doubt they did since there is evidence of cave paintings. 
I dunno what the population was but I would think they could have made lean tos or other structures that would have fallen apart by now. 
I mean, was there enough caves in enough places for all the evolving humans that were around back then?
