But I love all the Symbiote stuff. Especially the James Brown sequence. It's glorious.

I guess those parts can be funny, in a strange way, but they just make me not take the movie seriously. Don't get me wrong though, I actually still enjoy the movie, but I think Homecoming, Spiderman 1, and Spiderman 2 are better.

I get that. But what I like about them is that they show that even when he completely succumbs to his dark side, Peter isn't really that bad. Which is contrasted nicely when Brock gets the Symbiote and becomes a total sadistic maniac.

At the same time, Peter does do some seriously horrible things like "kill" Sandman, slap MJ and throw a pumpkin in Harry's face. So it's not like the Symbiote doesn't bring out any bad qualities.
