If these fucktwats have another strike I'm done with baseball. How much money do you need? I've always found the debate of $$ split between Owners and Players in every sport fascinating.
I'm not on either side - I view players as 'blessed' to play a kids sport and revel in getting paid handsomely. Sports is entertainment to me. That being said - they entertain me and bring in $$.
I view the owners as Corporate Ice so to speak - in that it's business - like any industry under the sun - cold and calculated.
'How much money do you need' in my eyes is intriguing as I think it works towards both - the Owners and Players (and again I'm not on either side)
So what do you do with excess $$?
Are there any teams out there in the 4 major sports that you can think of that use a portion of their money for charitable contributions towards their city/state? Not talking volunteer work - I'm talking this comes down from Upper Management that a certain amount of assets - players as well dictated in the contract they sign - make a contribution to the community either monetarily or 'time wise' - i.e. giving back to the community.
Honestly, I don't even care what they do, the owners are trying to make money, the players get paid far far more than they could ever imagine and the rise in salaries has sky rocketed, there is no reason to strike. Owners should be able to do what the ywant to do and players get paid very well. The average family might be able to go to a game once and that's well over 150 bucks to do so. When I was a kid my dad took our family to games numerous times during the season, that doesnt' happen any more except with rich people. Prices at baseball games are nearing football and baseball which is absurd as it's 162 games. I personally will never pay to see a game, I have not paid for a ticket since the 94 strike. I have went to many games on other people's dimes but I already will not pay. If they strike again, I will be done. Honestly, when Bonds and Clemens go in the hall, I'll be done anyway.
