Hopefully they don't. The 'Arrowverse' has screwed up a number of things over the years but occasionally they get some things right or do okay versions of them and it appears we have another character coming to Supergirl from the comic books and that character is Menagerie and for those who are unfamiliar with her she has a connection to Manchester Black who recruited her and her sister into The Elite.

Supergirl Welcomes a New DC Villain to The CW in February

Supergirl's problems this season only seem to be getting worse, as classic comic villain Menagerie is set to make her small screen debut in February, played by Jessica Meraz.
In a new synopsis, Kara will team up with her mentor and father figure J'onn J'onzz, now working as a private eye, on a case which has them cross paths with Alex and her own case involving Menagerie. Given how Alex currently has no memory of her sister being the Maid of the Might, things may be rough between the two as they work on the case.
Much like fellow season four villain Manchester Black, Menagerie was a member of the bloodthirsty antihero team, The Elite, whose methods brought them into conflict with Superman. The first character to bear the mantle of Menagerie was a Puerto Rican woman who could control alien lifeforms she had bonded with. After she was lobotomized by Black, her sister took both the name and the aliens, joining a reformed Elite, though not out of the goodness of her heart.

DC COMICS VILLAIN MENAGERIE APPEARS-With his P.I. shingle newly hung outside his office, J'onn (David Harewood) welcomes new clients. Trying to take her mind off what happened at the DEO, Kara (Melissa Benoist) decides to team up with J'onn on his latest assignment, which unfortunately ends up tying directly into Alex's (Chyler Leigh) current investigation that involves the villain Menagerie (guest star Jessica Meraz). Meanwhile, Lena (Katie McGrath) shares some news with James (Mehcad Brooks), but his reaction isn't what she expected. Nia (Nicole Maines) invites Brainy (Jesse Rath) to her Valentine's Day party. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode with story by Robert Rover and teleplay by Daniel Beaty & Greg Baldwin (#412). Original airdate 2/17/2019.
Seeing as the next episode will feature the debut of this show's version of the Elite, it seems as though Menagerie will be the least of Kara's worries when the actual team comes together to wage war on both her and the Children of Liberty.
Airing Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers.
