Why do some people cough all the time for seemingly no reason?

I think multiple sources. Mine is getting better.

I have had it since late teens. It has gotten worse. But recently (last ten years) it has been getting better.

Dust, dust mites, stress --- and cold, dry weather trigger an attack for me.
