I hate having to pick a ringtone. I need to stick with the stock ringtones. I can't make some customized ringtone. I want to look nonchalant about it. But the standard ringrone that the phone company gave me was just too much of an advert for them. So I scrolled through and sampled each one, and picked the most pleasant yet generic sounding one. Something that will not be too loud to others, yet is a tone that sticks out in my hearing range. And without a doubt a key factor is that when others hear it, the ringtone sounds like something that could have been a stock thing. Which I never thought about and just accepted the ringtone my phone came with. I dread thinking that the others would know I consciously picked something that appealed to me. I'm very self conscious. It's a wonder I even have an avatar or even a screen name.
