Id like to see more dramas akin to A man for All Seasons and Becket gain popularity again

Not the one-offs that I'm talking about - like the days of "Twilight Zone" or the various one-offs in the days of live television (Playhouse 90, et al). The ones today, as far as I'm aware, are like mini-series with one story running throughout one season and another story running throughout the next season - with the same casts each season. At least that's the way I understand it. If you can please tell me of a television series where each episode stands alone, with a different cast each week, I would be forever grateful to you.
