Yeah, when I first watched it, it scared the bejeebus out of me and now it's like, "This is awesome!"
I think monster movies were more of a new thing back then.
We are numb to them now.
If we were around back then, we might have found it awesome.
Yeah, I was like, "OK this is a run-of-the-mill monster flick. Why am I supposed to be impressed by it?"
Then I had the above epiphany.
Then I read stuff that it relates to the cold war and Russia etc.
Was there anything that doesn't in movies and entertainment around then that didn't? I dunno if it ties in with it or not.
I'm impressed at what they could do with SFX back then.
I just caught bits and pieces of it on a cable movie channel.
It didn't keep me wanting to keep watching.
I got bored with it. It's like there was nothing new to see.
They seem to get sci fi prequel films more wrong than right.
