I was introduced to the wonderful silent film Tol'able David (1921) after seeing a clip of it in William Castle's The Tingler (1959). The Tingler was apparently a silent movie buff since there were was no screaming in the films themselves (until Vincent Price had to go and spoil its fun by encouraging the audience to start screaming).
