Tough choice but I'll go with Cloud Atlas, Arrival, and Her. There were several ones that I like about as much but that's what I'm sticking with for now. I had no desire to see that when it came out and it flopped, but the reviews are good. Might have to check it out one day. I don't know anything about your tastes but I can tell you that I was interested in it before I saw it. I would have seen it in theaters but I never found the right time. I gave it an 8 since even though I really like a lot of sci fi from this era there's nothing that I'd say that I love, like The Thing or The Day The Earth Stood Still. I will say that the movie is pretty dense and if you're not in the mood for a movie that is overloaded with characters and inter-story connections then you might want to watch something else. |
