I think the Giants actual cool signing was Vogt, he was great with the A's, not the greatest defensive but okay, but solid offense. That said, I think if the Giants are going to be moving Posey to first soon, he can kiss his HOF chances good bye. He does not and will not have the stats to make the hall as a c/1b. If he stays at catcher his whole career he would have an outside shot and that's only because of his average. And I don't think Mauer makes the hall and if he doesn't with his 3 batting titles, Posey definitely does not. Posey has won a MVP, Rookie of the Year, and was the backbone of 3 championship teams. He's already ahead of Joe Mauer for Hall of Fame by a longshot. I'm not saying Buster is a lock or anything, but if Joe Mauer gets in, then Buster should for sure. His stats are not remotely Hall worthy. This is another case of a current popular guy who is great that everyone thinks is going to the hall just like they did for Mattingly but Posey's stats right now are not going to get him into the hall, especially if he moves to first. He just becomes Ted Simmons for this generation. And you're talking to a die hard Giants fan who named a dog after Buster. I want him in the hall but he's got a long long ways to go before he's in. Everyone said Jeff Kent was going to be a first balloter and he should be in now and he barely gets votes.
