I looked her up, didn't see much. I did a scroll through her twitter, lots of MCU stuff of course, her in ugly clothes, comments about the whole TIMES UP movement, and retweets of things from people promoting representation on screen of people who aren't heterosexual, white, and able-bodied. Still not-seeing why she would be alienated the audience. Maybe it is something she's doing that doesn't strike me as terrible, so that's why I don't see it.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that you looked her up and didn't find any news article about her controversies. I typed in "Brie Larson" just now in a google search and some of the first hits I got were:

"Captain Marvel review bombed as trolls misinterpret Brie Larson's 'men' comments"
"Brie Larson is forcing Marvel to become GHOSTBUSTERS 2016"
"Captain Marvel: The Brie Larson controversies affecting the boxoffice"
"Why are people MAD at Brie Larson"

etc.

But if you really want to narrow it down, just do a search for "Brie Larson backlash". You should easily find articles that describe the controversy then. Even better if you do it on youtube.
