I'm seeing more original lists on this thread than we usually get. Maybe there's hope for this board.
By "original" I do mean "honest, credible" as opposed to the people who just copy some movie critic's list.
I congratulate you.
When I think of "great" films, I leave out the "great comedies" from the very top to make room for more meaningful films.
My list: 1. King of Kings 1927 2. Seven Samurai 1954 3. Jungle Fighters 1961 4. Union Pacific 1939 5. D.O.A. 1950 6. Lord of the Rings trilogy 2001-2003, I still consider one film 7. 49th Parallel 1941 8. King of Kings 1961 9. Missing 1982 10. Ride the High Country 1962 11. Shane 1953 12. The Bridges at Toko Ri 1954 13. Secret Agent 1936 14. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe 15. Shake Hands With the Devil 1959 16. Then There Were Three 1961 17. The Stranger 1946 18. All Quiet on the Western Front 1930 19. Platoon 1986 20. Nankyoku Monogatari 1983 21. The Bravados 1948 22. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World 2003 23. Troy 2004
With all the rewatches I don't Know which were last.
