His performance is fine, but I've never understood why it was good enough to win an Oscar. I'm surprised Tom Hanks didn't win his third for Cast Away. Hanks had the more difficult role in gaining/losing weight for his role, and even more difficult, keeping an audiences attention on the island with him having minimal dialogue and no person to interact with. |
