I did this when I wanted to show my little nephew Peter Jackson's King Kong. I toned down some of the violence. I also made a shortened edit of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" to show my niece. That movie is way too long. I forgot about that one. I edited my version too...took out the "native" scenes. To me, they were just not appealing and did not enhance the story in any meaningful way. Yeah, those scenes were odd and too scary for young kids. It was like the horror movie part of King Kong.
