I find the outrage/controversy entertaining. It seems like almost every year there's always something stupid that gets way over blown and both sides end up looking ridiculous. In 2015 there was the whole bit with Mad Max Fury Road and how "feminist have hijacked Mad Max!!" Because of the female lead. In 2016 you had the Ghostbusters remake. A film that should have been ignored but the fanboys had to throw a hissy fit and the cast and crew played a victim card hoping to get sympathy support. In 2017, and possibly the biggest one, The Last Jedi which not only cause a big fan boycott of the franchise but also brought Gamergaters (lol) back in the spotlight thanks to Rian Johnson. True. There was also all those complaints about Danny Rand not being Asian, the backlash against Henry Cavill for describing his traditional courtship ideals, the criticisms against James Bond for being too misogynistic, and of course the infamous James Gunn incident. People get more sensitive by the year and keep finding more and more stuff to complain about.
