"Bio-Dome"
I got hit by a car when I was about 10. Not my fault, I was riding my bike on the street and an elderly woman (sweetest person you'd ever want to meet) fell asleep at the wheel and nailed me. Didn't break any bones, but I had a severe concussion and bashed the crap out of my head. (Hardest way to learn to wear a helmet).
I was laid up for about a week. My father felt bad for me as I was sort of housebound for this time. He came home with a VHS rental of "Bio-Dome." We're both active people and I think he sensed I was getting tired of laying on the couch recovering. He said "figured you'd like this, bud." He and I both loved "Encino Man" so he figured "Bio-Dome" would be up my alley. He was right.
I will still defend this movie decades later if only for this anecdotal reason. And other fans of this movie might recognize my rendition of the song "makin' a filter" as I sing it to my dog each morning while I make her breakfast.
I still find the movie very funny, but it does conjure up some really terrible memories of head trauma. Wear a helmet, friends!
