I fully support gay rights and all but that is pretty young for that kind of material. What I mean is at those ages you are pretty much trying to figure yourself out. Most are figuring out their sexuality. While I can't speak for all, I can say that I figured out my sexuality early on in life when I found myself attracted to a number of girls throughout elementary school. Plus, seeing more LGBTQ kids in movies and on TV can help some people to figure out their own sexuality rather than largely ignoring it in mainstream media.
