Everyone does that as it really goes without saying as what you just said there is something I tend to preach quite often when certain topics turn up.
I rate movies very subjectively. All of the movies in my top 10 lists of any year usually had some kind of profoundly emotional effect on me.

p.s. but ill say it again... how much someone likes a movie pretty much boils down to some sort of emotional response/feeling it gives the viewer and the more it does that in a positive way the higher the score and the less the lower the score (but at least for me... there are not that many movies that stand out to a higher degree as it pretty much boils down to 181 movies I score a 7 or higher). rating movies any other way pretty much makes no sense if you ask me because it's more of a lie where as rating this way is a true measure of what a viewer truly thinks of a movie.
I know they were a tie. When my movies are tied, I just pick a spot and give it a number.

But it's more accurate so it can't be worse than what you do, only better since it's more accurate. so I can't see why someone would not be a fan given this info. so while you can do that stuff you just said if you want, ill continue to do mine my way since it's technically superior as it more accurately reflects my thoughts/feelings on a movie.
