Yes. I do. I personally think it is important to have representation like that for children and as somebody who grew up with homophobic parents who abandoned me when I came out I spent a lot of my childhood hating myself and feeling like there was something wrong with me 'cause of the way my Father talked about homosexuals and when I went to school I saw children getting bullied and bashed up for just being suspected of being gay and when I watched movies or TV shows the only representation of gay and Lesbian characters I saw were characters used for jokes and the subject of gay slurs. I knew I had feelings for my best friend when I was 8 and while all my hetero friends were crushing over guys who were lead singers of bands and hanging posters of them up on their bedroom all my crushes were female and before we bring sex into it like some people have I was not thinking about sex when I was younger and didn't even think about that until I was around 16 but I would think about kissing, cuddling and holding hands with my friend and telling how her I felt about her the same way a lot of young boys and girls did in my old Primary School.
It wasn't until I came out and talked to my Sister I was finally able to accept my sexuality and realise there was nothing wrong with me and as much as it hurt me at the time getting away from my homophobic parents and living with my Sister was one of the best things that happened to me. I would have LOVED to have had representation like that in movies and TV shows when I was a kid 'cause I would have been able to see there was nothing wrong with me at a younger age and while things have gotten better since then there are still children who grow up with homophobic parents like I did who could really use that.
