Isn't the reason so many people enjoy the Friday the 13th movies because they are being entertained by senseless and barbaric murder? Anticipating watching the next innocent teenager be torn apart, stabbed, beheaded etc. Seems kind of sick to me.

Kevin is defending his property in an exaggerated way and I sympathize with his character. I see that aspect of the movie as being about protecting your home and yourself at all costs.

As far as F13, the more likable the victims, the scarier watching them die and better the movie. That's why Friday 4 is my favorite - genuinely likable cast. When a horror movie is just giving me a bunch of assh*Les to root for the deaths of, it puts me off.

Buy seriously, I like seeing irons fall on Daniel Stern's head as much as the next guy. I'm just kidding about HA.

I guess the difference is that I don 't care about any of the characters in any of the F13 movies enough to care whether they get killed or not, except Corey Feldman's character and even then the movies still aren't even remotely scary to me. Jason is more silly than scary imo.

F13 part III and Part IV are a tie for my favorite btw.
