I think people tend to boycott anything DC-Fan does as a natural reaction. I doubt there would be any outrage if anyone else did it, but DC-Fan tends to rub people the wrong way and a lot of people have an axe to grind.
I totally get that and understand it well. There are certain individuals who have a knack for turning any thread here into an anti-MCU thread. I see how that's annoying and why I often find myself on WeirdRaptor's forum so I can just be a fan and talk about all the things I love about the MCU without being belittled about my fandom.
But the irony here is so obvious. This tournament directly parallels everything about the Brie Larson situation but to such a lesser extent that the outrage over it is absolutely silly. The idea that people here question the outrage over Brie Larson's comments, someone who also seems to rub certain people the wrong way, yet they have a similar outrage over a silly forum tournament. People have an axe to grind with DC-Fan.. much how people have an axe to grind with the MCU or feminists so they, undeservedly so, try to bring down or boycott anything related to it!
I fully support Brie Larson and what she set out to do. But even you have to see the outrageous similarities between this tournament and Larson's comments and how hilarious it is to boycott it.
1st, this tournament isn't like what Brie Larson wants. Brie Larson wants racial quotas so Brie Larson wants to select people based solely on their race, which sounds pretty racist. In this tournament, I'm not using any quotas. I selected the 128 hottest actresses from superhero movies and TV shows, regardless of whether they were in MCU or DC or other Marvel (such as Ghost Rider) or even non-DC, non-Marvel (such as Max Steel, Power Rangers, and Sky High). 2nd, this isn't an anti-MCU thread. This thread was just a simple tournament thread, similar to the recent tournament threads on Best Superhero Movie (won by The Dark Knight) and Worst Superhero Movie (won by Fantastic Four (2015)). But it's a few MCU fans who once again hijacked the thread and turned it into an MCU vs DC thread like they often do.
