Not a comic book but a movie - in "Zapped" (1982) Scott Baio uses his mind to pop the tops off of two uncredited young women who are laughing at him. This would be considered abusive today but was high wit 36 years ago (just kidding, it was adolescent male wit). Then probably "high" wit after all.
