Well, there's that Babe Ruth sale. That didn't go as planned.
The Bills fucked up three years of draft in one pick. They reach for E.J. Manuel. Then they decide that Manuel's problem was that he didn't have a receiver. So they move up to take Sammy Watkins (passing on UB product Khalil Mack). And all it cost was the Bills #1 the next year. Three years for a choad that my grandson could see was no NFL QB.
You never can tell how things may work out. Bill took Tom Cousineau at #1 overall in 1979 and watch him flee across the border to the CFL. The Raiders got more out of JaMarcus Russell. The Bills held Cousineau's draft rights and traded him to the Browns. Who dod the Bills draft with that pick? Jim Kelly.
