There is a good argument; "It will cost you nothing to believe in God. But it could cost you everything not to."Sounds like an easy decision to me. If someone promises to pay you one million dollars if you will believe that extraterrestrial life exists, it's easy to see the benefit of believing (and you may decide to profess belief). But the money has no power to persuade anyone to genuinely believe that it's true. I think your analogy was poor. People who already believe in extraterrestrial life would not stop believing if they would receive a million clams for continuing to believe what they already believed. (On a secondary note, a million dollars is not the same as eternity in Heaven. And not having a million dollars is not the same as eternity in Hell.)
