Every year he loses a few of his best players to better-paying teams. Bain, McLean, Jack, Hayes, Christie, Rooney, etc., yet he stays up there, find replacements and competes with the Old Firm. Usually, at season's end, he is left empty-handed but I wouldn't begrudge him a victory in the Scottish Cup, this season. He deserves some reward for what he does for the Dons.
