Marvel boss Kevin Feige responds to glaring plot hole in ‘Captain Marvel’

I stopped watching after the first two.  Pepper says SHIELD it quite a mouthful and Coulson quips, "We're working on it."  That doesn't mean SHIELD was founded yesterday.  The guy acknowledged their name is ridiculous.  Then the dipshit host points out there's no way Carol would know if Fury was telling the truth.  She was clearly getting a read on the guy, that's all.  She even makes a joke about it after he tells her about the toast.  

Thing is, I bet there are plot holes between this and the continuity of Agents of SHIELD, but as the movies have never acknowledged the show's existence, I don't think it matters.
