If I could describe Captain Marvel in one word:

I can agree with the "average" part but for a different reason. For me, the humor was fine and there was no part in the movie where I actually felt bored. The problem was, I never felt like the movie took off. It never built to a proper climax, didn't go through decent trials and tribulations, didn't work for its heroic moments, etc. It felt like it was on cruise control for the entire film.

It was still a fun and enjoyable ride though. I rate it closer to Dr. Strange than to Antman and the Wasp. Just a bit under Dr. Strange.
