1. is done in order to hopefuly stop the woman from making a scene - in public fancy setting they are less inclined to do so. Its a jerk move but it is done. 2. We knock in our place before entering another room so very little locking going on, but I see your point and agree, its overused. 3. this I Never saw in Europe and was alwaya wondering “wtf” when watching Seinfeld or Friends. Then I moved to the US where I do see it here and there and especially outside of NYC I did see it much more (and did it occasionaly myself in my house). 4. I see this all over! If I look outside my window in the evening barely anybody has blinds on. Its crazy. Again in europe this would be unthinkable but in the US I see it a lot. So I guess it depends where you live? Thanks for responding. But I never see these things in real life 1) Everybody I know breaks up in private. 2) Everybody I know closes and locks the door before using the bathroom or having sex. 3) Everybody I know in the city locks their door and expects visitors to ring doorbell or knock. 4) Everywhere I go at night (in the city) closes their window treatments at night for privacy. Maybe in the country they do things differently. But the scenes I am complaining about take place in cities. my own pet peeve about whats in movies is the "wait" scene, where someone gets upset and storms out and the other person just says "wait" but doesnt make any attempt to catch up with the person or say something else, that would stop them from leaving. To me thats cringeworthy. I already posted about this before so sorry for repeating. but it gets me. Same with women wearing bras in bed during sex. I know the nipple is something like hitler in the US movies, I know, but still, Who does that. Its so annoying. So find a diff angle.
