It's pretty much anyone's guess on a mainstream level which is what I assume the OP is referring to.
but for me personally...
1.Gran Torino - 10/10 (the most recently released movie to get a 10/10 from me. hell, it's within my Top 3 Clint Eastwood movies straight up)
2.Felon - 9/10 (this movie seems to fly off the radar. it's the #1 prison movie if you ask me)
3.JCVD - 8/10 (Van Damme's #1 movie if you ask me although I suspect many will default to remembering him for Bloodsport (1988) or thereabouts)
4.Mesrine Part 1: Killer Instinct - 7.5-8/10 (my #1 Vincent Cassel movie)
-.Taken (I think many will remember Liam Neeson for this role, especially in terms of action movies it seems this is THE movie he will be most remembered for)
6.Appaloosa - 7/10
7.Valkyrie - 6.5-7/10
-.Street Kings
9.Mesrine Part 2: Public Enemy #1 - 6-6.5/10
--.Quantum of Solace (2008) (this is a James Bond movie so that sort of seems to guarantee some level of rememberence even though it seems to be generally considered the worst of the Craig area by the majority from what I can tell)
but anyways... ill remember that year, at least currently, as the most recent year that I handed out a 10/10 as there have not been any 10/10 movies since that I have seen. also, I think not all that long ago I looked at ALL years and I think 2008 was one of my stronger years for movies but I would have to recheck since things might have changed a bit since. but either way, it beats many other years for movies overall.
but like jamesbamesy said, I suspect The Dark Knight will probably be something that comes to mind for those who are big into super hero movies (even if not, it's still something I think will be remembered to some degree at the least). but even that movie aside, maybe Gran Torino (2008) or Taken (2008) etc. but it's hard to predict exactly what movies will move on to be classics/still be talked about in 20-30+ years of time from 2008 (so say what movies from 2008 will still be talked about around the years 2028-2038 etc). but I do think in terms of super hero movies that The Dark Knight sounds like a safe bet (I used to think it was the best of the genre at one point but nowadays I only barely like it (now that probably goes to Wonder Woman (2017) or Batman v Superman (2016) etc).
