Canadian actor Shane Rimmer (1929-2019) passed away on March 29th at age 89. Never the leading man, but chances are very good you've seen one of his film appearances. He moved to the U.K. in the late 50's and that's where his career began. He started out as a lounge singer. He became the voice of Scott Tracy on the TV series Thunderbirds. He appeared in three different James Bond movies ( You Only Live Twice (1967), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), and The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)), as three different characters. He also did some voice only work on Live and Let Die (1973). He appeared in Superman (1978), Superman II (1980) and Superman III (1983) but he also played a different character each time. He was even in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). He even guest starred on the original series of Doctor Who. He is the only actor to appear in both the Christopher Reeve Superman film series and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. He is the only actor to have appeared in both Batman and Superman films from separate continuities, as well as the Star Wars and James Bond franchises. All of the Shane Rimmer movies I've seen, so far: You Only Live Twice Diamonds Are Forever Rollerball Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope Silver Bears The People That Time Forgot The Spy Who Loved Me Julia Superman Hanover Street Arabian Adventure Superman II The Dogs of War Reds Gandhi The Hunger Superman III The Lonely Lady Morons From Outer Space The Holcroft Covenant White Nights Out of Africa Crusoe A Kiss Before Dying Company Business Year of the Comet A Kid in King Arthur's Court Spy Game Batman Begins Dark Shadows
