Is that how it is in US? Here in UK I'll just show up on the first day, pick a seat and that's about it. I'm on the VUE website right now in a 1 hour+ que and tickets have been out since midday. Doubt you can just walk upto a screening on opening day and get a ticket - unless your in a remote part of the country.
