Saw a bit of the Jays series this week. He's getting sympathy pats for hard hit balls. That's borderline tragic with all the money he's raking in. He got busted for amphetamines in 2014 (I think). Always wondered if it wasn't more than amphetamines. His career kind of has the "no more roids" trajectory. The wheels came off at age 30, it's happened before. Of he just figured "Fuck it, I got mine." and quit trying. Whatever he reason, this is not the type of player you want on a team facing a lengthy rebuild. You need veterans on a garbage team like the O's to mentor the rooks, but a rally killing doofus like Davis has no place. What's he going to do, mentor kids on how to hit .000? He is a lighting rod, I guess. However bad someone is doing, he's not the worst player and won't get the worst boos and press.
