A fair few of my favourites are on the list but of course there were always going to be glaring omissions. Very good to see some of the classics such as Dad's Army and Porridge. Only Fools will always have a place in my heart. Glad there's a Partridge presence on the list. Peep Show and The Thick of It too, nice one.
What sort of smeghead left out Red Dwarf?? Also miffed not to see Black Books, The IT Crowd (sorry, LaFong!), Spaced and Still Game on the list. I guess Dinnerladies made it because Victoria Wood is held in such high esteem but, although I did watch the show, it was really nowt special in my opinion - still, at least Miranda isn't stinking the list up!
Here's an obscure one for you all, does anyone recall My Life in Film? That had a great little set-up. Deserved another series but it just disappeared. In recent years I've had a soft spot for the Reeves and Mortimer vehicle House of Fools, as it was great for daft, unpretentious laughs. I would swap The Young Ones for Bottom, personally.
League of Gentlemen and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace for the slightly macabre comedy.
