Ok, so I know the obvious answers... I guess what I'm asking is: why take the risk?
I recently purchased a SNES Classic at the mall (gift for a friend. I've had my own for months) and the two sales clerks were both telling me how to hack it and get more games on it. This is something I would never do because given my general anxiety level I'd just be paranoid as hell about it. Yet I still hear about people doing this all the time with all sorts of software. Makes me wonder why people even take the chance - even if those chances are low. Who wants to get busted for stealing video games (or movies or tv shows?)
The only thing that would tempt me are those Despecialized Star Wars movies... But even that isn't enough for me to ever take the risk.
Maybe I'm just a goody two shoes (does anyone use that phrase anymore? What do shoes have to do with anything?)
