With 90 seconds of added time left, and the game scoreless, Man City's Demi Stokes' cross into the area was way off target and going into touch for a CFC goal-kick. Keeper Ann-Katrin Berger can see it's going out but is then jolted into reaction as she sees defender Magdalena Eriksson inexplicably intercept the wayward ball and divert it unstoppably past her own keeper and into the goal, gifting City a place in the FA Cup Final. Look at Eriksson, she is in turmoil. For a good while into the future she will be asking herself "Why didn't I just leave it? Why did I interfere with it?" Man City will play West Ham at Wembley in the final on 4th May at 5.30pm. What a day out for the two teams, what a venue. And that's the killer for Eriksson. No Wembley, no cup final, no day out, not for her, not for her teammates. That's why after self-potting she rolls over onto her stomach like the ground might consume her utter despair and turn time back ten seconds. Last minute CFC own goal puts City through to Wembley FinalShe deserves a medal for saving people the torture of extra time.
