Sigh, I can understand the equality of supporting the women's game and the desperate wish to not be seem to be un-inclusive (hence the sudden influx of women appearing on every football match giving their opinion) but, we need to be honest, the standard is bloody terrible. Could the England women's team provide a more entertaining match than a tier 8 non league match could? I honestly doubt it. Will we see tier 8 on prime time TV? I doubt it. Should we have under 11's football on as well as we are being unfair and insulting the quality of children's football if we don't and damaging the growth of the youth game? If the audience is there then fair enough, I also believe women's football should only have women ex players commentating on it as men haven't played that level of the game so can't really be qualified to comment in an educated fashion on it. I just get the feeling all this comes down to playing lip service (which is actually insulting to women) to a hot issue and a desperation o be seen as "fair".
