Yes, that scene probably should have been played with a little less humor depending on the situation, but one of the main points of these crossover movies in the MCU is to have these colorful characters bring in their respective personalities and to have them interact and play off each other in ways that are entertaining to the audience. All doom and gloom doesn't do these movies any favors when it comes to entertainment value. Yes, Drax should have been more invested in the plan in that scene instead of yawning, but that's just his personality and Mantis has always been portrayed as innocent and somewhat naive. In the end, it's just another example of you not properly setting your expectations with these films. You should know what you're going to get by now. If not, you only have yourself to blame and you should just stop watching them. Theres a time and place for it, too bad Disney doesnt know how to integrate humour very well. That drax example is a classic. Bonehead fans will laugh at that scene not knowing how disrespectful it is to comic book drax. Hes yawning seeming uninterested even though from the first gotg movie weve seen how badly he wants to avenge his dead loved ones. Classic Disney spin that people fall for. More excuses from bud afraid to call out bad content. This is where mcu xmen will become a joke undercutting serious moments with lame comedy Still nowhere as bad as Havok's death in Ivan Ooze followed immediately with a stupid Quicksilver twinkie slo mo scene played for a joke/laughs.
Or Magneto's "Who the f are you" line to Ivan Ooze when he was about to kill the factory workers for the murder of his family.
Or Xavier's "You had some really bad acid" line after Wolverine's BS panic attack in DOFP.
Or Wolverine goofy comical acting and lines towards those goons when he first arrived in 1973 and the stupid "peaceful thoughts" line after he punctured the waterbed and killing them.
Or the stupid Nightcrawler eavesdropping scene in X2 when the X-Men and Mangeto were planning to deal with Stryker.
Or the stupid playing N'sync's "Bye, Bye, Bye" song after Stryker's assault on the X-Mansion and barely getting away in X2.
