I gripe about it for the following reasons:

1. Rose saving Finn is a deus ex machina
2. Rose's love of Finn seemed forced and unrequited to me
3. It was just another example in TLJ where every male character is portrayed as evil, incompetent, or both

1) I don't know if the term Deus Ex Machina applies, but I get what you're saying.

2) Agreed, but its a Star Wars movie. If you really think about it what love story has been REALLY developed? Even Han and Leia were on the Millennium Falcon for what seemed like only a few days... 

3) Disagree. But that's another story.
