Emboldened by her claim that she is also not a feminist. Katy Couric arrogantly assumed she was... Exactly. When she said that, it was what made me like her as much as I do. I could see somebody thinking she was an ole sour puss, and I used to think so myself, but I like her. Though your vote for Elvira as President is quite an appealing idea! Couric was expressing her own arrogance of presumption here. Her definition of feminism is belied and undermined by the bias and sexist title in itself, 'feminism' and the need to be seen as a victim.
What JJ expressed as her success, was because of her own personality to fit in with whatever works—her gender was irrelevant—and because she didn't need propping up by some entitled idealist movement. She wasn't seeking approval, just because she was a woman and wanted a special compensation made for this. That is strength of character.
