Guardians is about embracing the comic bookiness of the source, while Logan was a testament to how plenty of people are still ashamed of comics and don't want to admit they watch comic book movies. So they go for that bankrupt "grounded" approach that nearly destroyed CBMs and think that's the only way to go. Of course, this is discounting how Logan was predictable as Hell. That's not what I heard from readings of the series. Depends, there have been several GOTG comics, and these movies take influence from several sources.
