Even in a lot of the positive reviews (like Frosty from Collider), you can tell that it's not anything groundbreaking.
At worst, it's meh. At best, it's not as good as the first one. Confirmed.
Schneider also said these movies aren't really his thing, and he'd have imagine if you were into the concepts you'd like it a lot more. So if you don't like it, don't see it. If it sounds cool, see it. How every movie is.
